Yes we can!
Ultrasound can see gallstones within the gallbladder very easily as long as you have fasted. The gallballder shrinks if you have eaten therefore you cannot see what is inside it. You can have one or multiple gallstones and they cause pain after eating.
We recommend fasting for six hours before the examination so that the sonographer can see the gallbladder clearly. If you are diabetic, please let staff know so we can adapt your fasting schedule.
